v25-4 Open House Chicago

Vol. XXV No. 4 - WINTER 2014

Open House Chicago brought record numbers to see the Edgewater Historical Society and Museum on October 18th and 19th! Now in its fourth year, Open House Chicago is a free weekend event organized by the Chicago Architecture Foundation to highlight unique local spaces. For the first time, Edgewater was included as a featured neighborhood, with eight sites open to the public, including the Berger Park mansions, Conway House, St. Ita Church, Episcopal Church of the Atonement, Edgewater Beach Apartments, and Firehouse Chicago. Over 250 visitors came to EHS, where they explored the exhibits, took pictures in the vintage car cutout, played games, and shared memories of the neighborhood. Many thanks to our docents, Tiffany Middleton, Pat McParland, Betty Mayian and Bob Remer, as well as the CAF volunteers, Anthony Alfaro, Scarlett Ashton, Robert Adamshick, Michael Kinsella, Nicole Minale, Huy Bui and Christine Kandaras, for making the weekend a success!
