Chicago History Book Discussion Group
Meeting Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Edgewater Branch of the Chicago Public Library; 6000 N. Broadway 10 am.
Featured book: “Reversing Urban Decline” by Ed Marciniak. Dr. Marciniak was a leader in the City of Chicago from his early days of teaching about race relations, to his labor activism, journalism and continuing civil rights activism. In this book Ed outlined the steps to community improvement through grassroots activism.
The group will decide on meeting periodically to discuss books on Chicago history that may include local history. The library will have a limited number of copies available in advance of the discussion. Even if you don’t read the whole book, feel free to attend and learn something from the discussion of an important era in Edgewater History.
