Marie Quinlan Morrissette - Volunteer Extraordinaire!

Vol. XIV No. 3 - SUMMER 2003

Editor’s Note: This is taken from the address by Kathy Gemperle, EHS President to the audience at the Edgewater Community Council Salute Edgewater Dinner in November 2002

Marie spent her childhood in Edgewater and has many memories here so it was no surprise when she moved back here in retirement.

Marie joined the Edgewater Historical Society and volunteered to be Treasurer. This is a lot like a real job, keeping track of everything without an office… everything, the membership, the fundraising, the grants, the bills and the events.

Marie does all this with a great generosity and lively spirit. Marie makes volunteering fun. She has a ready smile and a great sense of humor. She has a twinkle in her eye.

Marie takes care of people and helps people make connections. Marie is a lover of history, Marie is a part of our history.

In a community of volunteers, Marie Quinlan Morrissette is outstanding! Thank you, Marie!
