This home was built by the owner's grandfather in 1894-95. The permit was issued to J.L. Bauer, a builder, for construction at 6040-42, on August 15, 1894. When the owner's mother was married, around 1912, her father gave her this house on a large lot. The architecture is a Chicago cottage. The beautiful bay window is detailed in bull's-eye moldings.
