6042

This home was built by the owner's grandfather in 1894-95. The permit was issued to J.L. Bauer, a builder, for construction at 6040-42, on August 15, 1894. When the owner's mother was married, around 1912, her father gave her this house on a large lot. The architecture is a Chicago cottage. The beautiful bay window is detailed in bull's-eye moldings. The siding is the original wood and the bright color makes this house a standout on the block. You are welcome to visit the backyard by going around the side.
