How these statistics were compiled

These statistics were compiled from a review of the 1928 Sanborn maps by LeRoy Blommaert. Obviously, they do not include any buildings built after 1928. For the most part this affects only East Edgewater. Four-plus one buildings constructed in the late 1960s and early 1970s would thus not be included in the counts. Also, not counted are common-corridor buildings. It appears that the number of corner buildings may be and probably understated, particularly in some neighborhoods. A second review of the map is warranted.

*Corner buildings with more than 6 units as originally built, but not half or full courtyard. If a half or full courtyard building is on a corner, it is counted as either a half or a full courtyard building.
