Spring at Nookies
A great event! We saw so many old friends. Great deals on the Silent Auction. The Spring Fund raising event for the Edgewater Historical Society was a great success thanks to support of the brand new Nookies on Bryn Mawr. The restaurant served a great menu and set up the space to accommodate our 125 attendees.
The event was a celebration of the successes on Bryn Mawr with Nookies being the latest addition to the street. The new restaurant is in the same location as the original Edgewater Grocery store so many photos were set up around the room of the original store and the favorite 1932 view of Bryn Mawr from the EL platform. A framed copy of that favorite photo was auctioned by Bob Remer at the event. Bryn Mawr Task Force members were honored for all their work to improve the street. A quiz was provided as an ice breaker and Don Casey and Jonas Middleton were the winners.
The Betty Mayian 2012 Volunteer of the Year award was given to Gloria Evenson for the many things she has done to support the EHS including photographing many events and writing for the Edgewater Scrapbook. Gloria was thrilled and she came ready with her camera.
The event raised money to operate the Edgewater Historical Society Museum.
