African American History Month

The Edgewater Historical Society was honored and delighted to present Ms. Pam Cash, Vice President of Multi Media Resources at Johnson Publishing as a guest speaker at the museum on Saturday, February 18, 2006. Ms. Cash brought a personal perspective on the growth of Ebony and Jet Magazines. She told the audience about Mr. Johnson’s book, “Succeeding Against All Odds” as well as works “Forced Into Glory, Abraham Lincoln’s White Dream” by Lerone Bennett and “Special Moments in African American History” by Moneta Sleet, Jr. All three of these books are available at the museum while quantities last. Johnson Publishing also donated copies of the books to the Museum collections.
